Colton's almost 3 months old!

Where has the time gone? He's been so tiny for so long, and now all of a sudden he looks like a big boy :(. He's grown enough he can wear his tennis shoes Aunt Rachel bought for him. He's out grown all the NB stuff and may be skipping 0-3mo all together. He's found his thumb and could care less about his binky. He can sit up on the couch by himself too. Thankfully he does better than Deanne did with sleeping. We get on average 3-5 hours at a time. I'm so thankful to get to spend all this time with him.

Colton's Health

Our poor little man has been through so much in his 2.5 months of life. Today I finally met with the Pediatrician at our clinic. Let me say I was very pleased. The dr asked all the questions I felt he should ask since it was the first time he'd seen Colton. He listened to my concerns and took what I felt was adequate time instead of trying to rush us out the door. Colton is weighing in at 10lbs 6oz which is a little low of where he should be now. He is being referred to ENT and having a swallow test done to address his choking/gagging issues. The ENT will also be evaluating his congestion that he's had for months now.

This past Friday we also met with EDIS which is responsible for early intervention to make sure the babies are developing as they should. The lady I met with was very helpful and even helped me know what questions to be asking the doctor when I went. Needless to say we are making leaps and bounds in Colton's care and well being.

Also both of his Drs from UNC were listed as America's Best Doctors which includes the top 3-5% of doctors in the US.

Introduction

Darrell and I met in Junction City, KS while he was stationed at Ft Riley and I was working and taking classes at Kstate. We got engaged on November 1, 2008 and were married on New Years Eve that year. In May of 2009 Darrell, Deanne, and I packed up and headed east towards Fort Bragg NC. During our travels Darrell's youngest daughter Evey joined us. In June Krystal came to stay with us too. Within 6 weeks of arriving at Bragg Darrell left for his first deployment. Thankfully it was only a 5 month long one. He returned home safely in November. We found out in January that we were expecting another little miracle. We found out June 1, 2010 we were having a little boy! Colton Riley was born September 15, 2010 @ 7:02pm. So now there are 6 of us, 7 if you count Miss Bella our Shih Tzu.
